Brian Schimming: McCain campaign roars to life in Wisconsin

Folks wondering about the McCain campaign commitment to Wisconsin had reason to feel better - much better - after a good meeting in Milwaukee Thursday afternoon.

Republican National Committee Chairman Mike Duncan was in town at McCain HQ (formerly Walker HQ on 84th) with key senior McCain and RNC staff to meet with almost 50 county chairs and activists. Duncan gave the overflow crowd an overview of the national campaign and made a strong commitment to winning Wisconsin. Staff present laid out the Victory campaign for the Badger state; County Executive Scott Walker was on hand to give some additional punch to the effort.

Duncan and staff answered several questions - sometimes pretty direct - from the crowd. Afterwards he spent time speaking one-on-one with everyone who wanted time with him, the first time I recall we’ve had that kind of direct access to the national chairman. He’s a grassroots believer, without question.

Kudos to state GOP chairman Reince Priebus and staff who pulled this together. It was a positive event with good information; overwhelmingly participants who did have concerns knew they’d been heard. The message from the RNC chairman was loud and clear: Wisconsin is indeed a target state, and they’re going to fight with everything they’ve got, plus some, to win here for the first time since 1984.

Let the battle be joined. Obama’s free ride in Wisconsin is officially over.

Jr. Senator Obama is no genius, by Jessi Olson

The Jr. Senator Barack’s love fest, honeymoon, ogling media obsession is like Bill Clinton’s obsession with McDonald’s. The media trying to get the next story about Obama is like a heroin addict trying to get the next fix.

OK I am sick and tired of the media making the Jr. Senator out to be this God, wonderfully experienced, know it all, genius! Let me tell you he is not! For someone who wants bigger government , more taxes, higher gas prices, pulling out our troops prematurely, control of our already screwed up health care system, and increased spending he is no genius.

Who we are talking about has done nothing, proven nothing, and has no idea the meaning of the word change.

Change usually happens for the good and that is why we vote in a certain person into office. Americans should not vote for Jr. Senator Barack H. Obama, who’s idea of change is so frighting, crack pot, disillusioned, rose colored and ignorant.

The liberal media can take their love fest and go to North Korea, another country that Obama has no idea the threat they pose. No wonder Fox news has some of the highest ratings on TV.

For those of you listening to the media WAKE UP! Obama is not a genius, he is not brilliant, and he will save the nation! He will only ruin it!

My vote for VP, Gov. Tim Pawlenty by Jessi Olson

A lot of people ask me who I think John McCain should pick for his vice president. My vote, for what it is worth, is Gov Tim Pawlenty from Minn.

I have several reasons for choosing this candidate. Having heard him speak at the Wisconsin Republican convention I believe he is an honest man, a dedicated man and a Christian.

Lets break down just some of my reasons I think McCain needs to pick Tim Pawlenty.

1. Christian values:

Pawlenty toed the line for the Family Council and Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life in the 2008 session when he vetoed legislation to fund stem cell research and legislation to allow cities to implement domestic partner benefits. He even vetoed a bill authored by a fellow Republican, Rep. Kathy Tinglestad. Her bill would formalize the processes involved in surrogate motherhood, but because anti-choice groups said it didn’t ban abortion, Pawlenty vetoed the bill.

Pawlenty courts the religious right in Minnesota albeit on the down-low. He’s made appearances at anti-abortion rallies, and was a featured speaker at the Minnesota Family Council’s Legislative Insights Luncheon in early 2007. A member of that group asked him, “Do you think you would have won without the faith-based vote?” Pawlenty quickly responded “No,” and was greeted with laughter and applause.

2. Holds the line on taxes

He has held the line on taxes including lowering taxes and balancing the budget, which is more than I can say for Gov Doyle of Wis. who raised taxes by raising fees.

3. Supports our troops

Proposed and signed a new benefits for our veterans which is right up McCain’s ally

4. Tough on crime

He advocated tougher penalties on sex offenders and meth offenders.

Gov Tim Pawlenty is my choice for Vice President.

Barry Goldwater Jr. speaks at the Defending the American dream Summit

One of your keynote speakers here at the summit was Barry Goldwater Jr. He was great.  Some of his exerpts really get you back to the roots of the conservative movement.  He talked about his grandfather who came to America with the idea of freedom.  He also talked about his honorable father,  who with Ronald Reagan was a key in the foundation of the conservative movement.  He stated he was a honest man, a unique man.  And Barry Goldwater Sr.,  he states,  had immeaureable efforts in America.  Funny quote from Goldwater Sr. “Anyone can grow up to be president except me”.  As stated “Conservatism started with more than just low tax and ending the cold war.” He ended by saying “NEVER GIVE UP!”

Jessi writes

What a day! I have met some wonderful people and some other people with views that seem a bit odd to me.  As you can image all sort of people are here at this summit, including Ron Paul people, who are as we “non Ron Paul people” call them Paulys.  I over heard someone saying “I will never vote for McCain, I will just not vote”.  And this is the beauty of this great country you can have these other opinions.  However a non vote for McCain is a vote for Obama.  What, they want Obama to win???? This is basic politics 101.  Just because you don’t agree with McCain doesn’t mean you don’t vote or you vote against him with a libertarian party or independent vote.  That basically is a vote for Obama! Paulys do you really want bigger government with Obama??? Isn’t everything Obama stands for totally against what you stand for?

But from what I have heard here at the summit Paulys who say these things aren’t voters anyway they are just blowing off steam and not to worry about anyway. Whew!

Ann is on a roll…..

This is not a Drill by Ann Coulter

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, or as she is called on the Big Dogs blog, “the worst speaker in the history of Congress,” explained the cause of high oil prices back in 2006: “We have two oilmen in the White House. The logical follow-up from that is $3-a-gallon gasoline. It is no accident. It is a cause and effect. A cause and effect.”

Yes, that would explain why the price of oral sex, cigars and Hustler magazine skyrocketed during the Clinton years. Also, I note that Speaker Pelosi is a hotelier … and the price of a hotel room in New York is $1,000 a night! I think she might be onto something.

Is that why a barrel of oil costs mere pennies in all those other countries in the world that are not run by “oilmen”? Wait — it doesn’t cost pennies to them? That’s weird………….

Nancy Pelosi Responds To President Bush

July 14, 2008 |

WASHINGTON, July 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today on President Bush’s announcement lifting the executive ban on drilling in protected coastal areas:

“Once again, the oilman in the White House is echoing the demands of Big Oil.

“The Bush plan is a hoax. It will neither reduce gas prices nor increase energy independence. It just gives millions more acres to the same companies that are sitting on nearly 68 million acres of public lands and coastal areas.

“If the President wants to bring down prices in the next two weeks, not the next two decades, he should free our oil by releasing a small portion of the more than 700 million barrels of oil we have put in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

“It’s time to tell the oil industry: ‘You already have millions of acres to drill. Use it or lose it.’”

Obama rolls down the hill by Jessi Olson

The Hill has spoken
As reported
Hll Democrats miffed at Obama
By JOHN BRESNAHAN
After a brief bout of Obamamania, some Capitol Hill Democrats have begun to complain privately that Barack Obama’s presidential campaign is insular, uncooperative and inattentive to their hopes for a broad Democratic victory in November.

“They think they know what’s right and everyone else is wrong on everything,” groused one senior Senate Democratic aide. “They are kind of insufferable at this point.”

Among the grievances described by Democratic leadership insiders:

• Until a mailing that went out in the past few days, Obama had done little fundraising for Democratic candidates since signing off on e-mailed fundraising appeals for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee immediately after securing the Democratic nomination.

• Obama has sometimes appeared in members’ districts with no advance notice to lawmakers, resulting in lost opportunities for those Democrats to score points by appearing alongside their party’s presumptive presidential nominee.

• The Obama campaign has not, until very recently, coordinated a daily message with congressional Democrats, leaving Democratic members in the lurch when they’re asked to comment on the constant back and forth between Obama and John McCain — as they were when Obama said earlier this month that he would “continue to refine” his Iraq policies after meeting with commanders on the ground there.

• Coordination between the Obama campaign and the House and Senate leadership is so weak that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) — who will chair the Democrats’ convention in August — didn’t know of Obama’s decision to move his final-night acceptance speech from the Pepsi Center to Invesco Field until the campaign announced it on a conference call with reporters. ……..Some Democratic leadership staffers complain that, having defeated the vaunted Clinton political machine in the primaries, the Obama campaign now feels a “sense of entitlement” that leads to “arrogance.”

Jessi writes…..
So this is Obama’s idea of change and unity????

Your turn Nan! by Jessi Olson

Jessi writes……..

There is a new lift and I don’t mean Nancy Pelosi’s eye brows. President Bush lifts executive ban on offshore drilling. There are two prohibitions on offshore drilling one imposed by Congress led my Nan herself, and another by executive order signed by the president which was done in 1990.  So rah rah rah to Bush for starting the ball rolling.  As stated by Bush “The only thing standing between the American people and these vast oil resources is action from US Congress,” so Congress what are you going to do about it?  We as Americans must stand firm and remain vigil in our fight against the pump!

This move was back up by presidential hopeful John McCain who called to open the Outer Continental Shelf for exploration.  The Jr Senator Barack Obama has opposed this idea and would like to help consumers with a second economic stimulus package including an energy rebate and so on and so forth.  Blah blah blah blah! Well this is what I say to that….really?????  Let me remind you readers that when the stimulus came up the first time the Jr senator was too busy to vote on it.  So why the heck do I think he will come through on this one.

America watch our economy tumble even farther if we don’t do something now about oil.  Drill here Drill now.  Here are some very helpful resources and other blogs supporting this cause:

Very sad news!

Cancer claims ex-Bush press secretary Tony Snow
By DOUGLASS K. DANIEL
Tony Snow, a conservative writer and commentator who cheerfully sparred with reporters in the White House briefing room during a stint as President Bush’s press secretary, died Saturday of colon cancer. He was 53.

“America has lost a devoted public servant and a man of character,” President Bush said in a statement from Camp David, where he was spending the weekend. “It was a joy to watch Tony at the podium each day. He brought wit, grace, and a great love of country to his work.”

Snow died at 2 a.m. at Georgetown University Hospital, according to former employer Fox News………

Iran is a real threat by Jessi Olson

Jessi writes……

Tehran’s test missile………..

The AP did a story today: The Pentagon on Wednesday studied intelligence on Iran’s latest missile test to figure out exactly what was launched and what it shows about Tehran’s missile capabilities………Analysts said an early assessment showed that U.S. tracking systems detected seven missile launches, including a version of Tehran’s longer-range Shahab-3, which officials have said has a range of 1,250 miles. Intelligence analysts were studying data from radar, satellites and other tracking systems to determine the distance it traveled, look at its accuracy and so on, one official said.

Tehran is like a two year old. You tell him no and he does it anyway. You tell him no again and he screams and throws a fit! He states “But I want my nuke” “I want to wipe out Israel“. What they are doing is trying to show they mean business like a two year old having a temper tantrum. But like two year old this too will not work. America needs to remain steadfast. We need to hold firm and not let Iran had nukes or become even more of a threat to Israel, Europe, or any other ally of ours.

And just like a two year old talking usually doesn’t work very well. McCain and the Jr. Senator Obama have been discussing what the best approach to this is.

As reported:
McCain repeated his call for tough new sanctions on Iran to be imposed by a coalition of Democracies, including the U.S. and Europe. “I am convinced that our European allies and friends are ready to impose significant, impactful and meaningful sanctions on the Iranians, especially financial, including trade,” he said.
Asked about Obama’s comments that the missile test represented a failure of diplomacy, McCain said that effective diplomacy has already been tried, with little success.

Don’t be fooled by the Jr. Senator by Jessi Olson

Jessi writes…………

There has been a lot of talk lately of all of the Jr. Senator’s changes in his views. With his NAFTA change or his campaign finance reform, warerantless wiretap support, flag pin, gun control, and now on his ideas with withdrawing out of Iraq.

Boy the girls at Code Pink and MoveOn.org are fuming! Can you imagine they work so hard with their grassroots and now he is claiming going to the center. Yes yes he claims that he is not flip flopping or shifting to reach the political center, but how do you account for all these recent changes now that he has wrapped up the nomination?

I would like to make a few observations. First the Jr. Senator has not agreed to any debates with Senator McCain. Hmmm I wonder why, could it be that McCain would rake him over the coals on all of these changes? I think he is waiting on America to forget all of his more lefty views and be fooled into thinking he is in the center, hey it almost worked for Hilary right? He also has not made any real claims for change to help the economy. For those of you drinking the funny Kool aid raising taxes doesn’t help the economy. And let us not forget his record. Last year the Jr. Senator has the most liberal voting record. Let me say that again, last year he had the most liberal voting record! MoveOn.org loved his nomination.

The Jr. Senator’s strategy is very clear. Go left, beat Hill, pick up lefts endorsements, go center, then go to Iraq, then return to left. Wait…we forgot to pass Go and collect $200, that is ok they didn’t want the campaign finance anyway right? Oh I forget!

Let us not forget who Barack Hussein Obama really is. A extreme left Jr. Senator who is claiming change.  What change would that be Barack I am a bit confused?

Gee we saw this a mile away…………

Planned Parenthood Endorses Barack Obama

While he was in the Illinois State Senate, Barack Obama toed Planned Parenthood’s line and voted according to their strategy on proposed abortion measures. In a July 17th, 2007 speech to the Planned Parenthood Action Fund (the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America), Sen. Barack Obama said that he would “not yield” on the issue of a woman’s right to have an abortion. He “attacked the Supreme Court decision that upheld the federal partial-birth abortion ban and the nomination of Supreme Court justices who favor overturning Roe v. Wade,” reports the Catholic News Service…………

http://newsmax.com/insidecover/planned_parenthood_obama/2008/07/08/110812.html

Jessi writes

Lets not forget:

In 1997, Obama voted against SB 230, which would have turned doctors into felons by banning so-called partial-birth abortion, & against a 2000 bill banning state funding. Although these bills included an exception to save the life of the mother, they didn’t include anything about abortions necessary to protect the health of the mother. The legislation defined a fetus as a person, & could have criminalized virtually all abortion.
