Weekly standard article, What Palin does

by Noemie Emery
1. Steps on the story of Obama’s speech (and convention), and possibly the bounce coming from them, and wipes them off the news cycle. The Sunday news shows will be all-Palin, all of the time.

2. Sends Republicans into their convention on a huge head of steam.

3. Wipes out the image of McCain as the crotchety elder and brings back that of the fly-boy and gambler, which is much more appealing, and the genuine person.

4. Revs up the base AND excites independents, which no one else in the party, or perhaps in the world, could have accomplished.

5. Puts youth, change, and history on both of the tickets.

6. May detach some young people, especially women.

7. May attach some women pissed off about Hillary.

8. As a pro-life super-achiever, puts feminists in a tizzy.

9. Revives some of the double-edged nature of the Democratic primary, which featured a black vs. a female trail-blazer, and put both sides on notice on sensitivity issues. Democrats used to raising charges of racism against Obama’s critics may face charges of sexism and/or condescension if they try to diss her.

10. Steps on Obama’s claims to have been a reformer, as he reformed nothing (much less the corrupt mare’s nest of Chicago arrangements), while she was a dragon-slayer up in Alaska.

11. As a mother of five, one a Down Syndrome baby, helps her side take on the Democrats on abortion extremism and the Born Alive bill.

12. Reignites the deep and unhealed stresses inside the Democrats, some of whom will now wonder
more loudly than ever why they didn ‘t pick Hillary.

13. Counters Michelle in a way Cindy couldn’t.

14. Counter-intuitively, makes the issue of Obama’s light resume more potent than ever. Her lack of experience is no more than his is. And he’s–to use a term from Alaska, and the Iditarod–their lead dog.

John McCain picks Sarah Palin

Alan Colmes is an idiot.  He states that John McCains choice is reactive not proactive.  I greatly disagree.  The news media is toting her as a heroin, a reformer, and a kick butt choice.   My question to the democrats is why would McCain not pick Sarah Palin?  She is a great choice for the Republican party.  She is pro life,  pro gun or what some would call pro 2nd amendment.  Also she is a hunter, which I am sure my brothers are jumping for joy.  She is also committed to energy dependence and understands that drilling is the key to driving down energy prices.  And,  as a women I can’t help but love her attitude.  She went into  her position as governor and ended corruption, put a stop to the “good ol’ boys” club.  She is a sincere, devoted, and has great conservative values and goals.

Now one of my other heros is Fred Thompson and here is what he had to say:

(Nashville) – U.S. Senator Fred Thompson issued the following statement:

“I am absolutely delighted by this selection. Once again, John McCain has shown that he is an independent thinker who paints in bold strokes. Sarah Palin is a conservative reformer with executive experience who will bring a breath of fresh air to Washington. She will be an ideal running mate for John McCain, and will make a major contribution to our country’s future.”

Ok America now is the time.   It is my impression with currently working on the McCain campaign, that the impact on this selection should be great enthusiasm! Now is the time to get out and volunteer to ensure that John McCain wins the President of the United States.

Alaska loves her, America loves her, and conservatives love her!

Women for McCain/Palin!

Hilary Clinton and the Messiah

While watching the convention last night I could not help but….wait for it….feel sorry for Hilary Clinton.  If for some ungodly reason I was a democrat and a Hilary supporter I would be steaming mad right now.  You see it is my impression that when it comes to the democrat nominee Hilary should of won this with a landslide.  Lets take a look at this one. We did not learn about his buddy Ayers and Rev Wright till more than half of the states were done with their primary.  Shame on us. And also when it comes to experience she topples over him.  Now don’t get me wrong I would never vote for a Democrat, but that party has real problems. Last night as I watched Hilary Clinton speak I kept thinking boy the democrats are probably right now thinking “uh oh” we picked the wrong person.  “Oh shoot”! “Oh well where is Teddy I need a drink” .

And from a different angle no one talks about one of the bigger problem.  No one can agree on anything.  Again this party is falling apart right before our eyes.  They talk about unity and having the country come together.  Now how is this going to happen when you have the person you are supporting being the most leftist Jr. Senator in the Senate?  And not to mention the third most leftist record in Mr. Biden?  This is a huge problem for him and the Democrat party.  How are you going to bring the country together by raising taxes?

Wake up American the Jr Senator is not going to bring this country together.

A/P: Radical tied to Obama compared US actions to 9/11

By JIM KUHNHENN:

DENVER (AP) — The release of a 2004 interview with former 1960s radical William Ayers, in which he compared U.S. government actions to the Sept. 11 attacks, drew renewed attention Tuesday to his association with Democratic candidate Barack Obama.

Ayers, already the subject of anti-Obama ads, was featured anew by Fox News for the comments, which the network released from an interview four years ago by one of its correspondents.

“I think every American that I know was weeping over the next several weeks, and devastated and shocked. Was that an act of pure terror? It absolutely was. And there are many other acts of terror carried out by our government, even recently, that, that are comparable,” he said………………….

....Obama and Ayers both served in the 1990s on a school reform board in Chicago. The University of Illinois at Chicago released documents Tuesday about Obama’s work for the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, an effort that Ayers was instrumental in starting. Obama served as chairman during the 1990s and both attended some board meetings with Ayers in 1995, but the papers offered few details of their work together.

Obama and Ayers also served on the board of the Woods Fund, a Chicago-based charity that develops community groups to help the poor. Obama left the board in December 2002.

The minutes of the Annenberg Challenge meetings show that during a June 1995 meeting, Ayers was credited with having “worked diligently” to support the effort. More than a year later, Obama pushed the group to be bolder in its reforms.

“At the end of five years, will we have broken the mold? Not much seems to be bubbling up that is inspiring or substantive,” October 1996 minutes say, paraphrasing Obama.

Associated Press writers Deanna Bellandi and John O’Connor in Chicago contributed to this report.

My Gas Price:$3.69

American needs to drill here drill now. America is having a energy crisis and we need to do something now!

Urge Congress and pass a bill to drill in America, where

the United States has vast oil and gas resources onshore and offshore that are currently illegal to develop and therefore inaccessible.

U.S. law prohibits the development of approximately 38 billion barrels of undeveloped oil resources (19 billion barrels onshore and 18.92 billion offshore).

U.S. law prohibits the development of approximately 180 trillion cubic feet of undeveloped natural gas resources (94.5 trillion cubic feet onshore and 85.7 trillion cubic feet offshore).

Also

CONGRESS RECENTLY VOTED TO MAKE IT ILLEGAL TO DEVELOP U.S. OIL SHALE RESOURCES

With oil prices at an all-time high, Americans are facing escalating gas, diesel, and aircraft fuel increases. Oil prices are projected to increase further.

Congress, however, has made it illegal to develop vast domestic oil resources in large parts of the United States.

The most startling Congressional prohibition on domestic oil production concerns the recently enacted ban on the development of oil shale resources in parts of Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming in the Green River Formation. According to a Rand Study estimate, this reserve contains over one trillion barrels of oil, with 800 billion barrels fully recoverable, or three times the current oil reserves as Saudi Arabia:

Michelle Obama

Looks like Michelle Obama can read a teleprompter just as well as her husband the Jr. Senator. She stated that he stated what the world is and what the world should be. Oh I know what she is talking about a world with higher taxes. Now she loves this country wow that is new. What tax cuts is she talking about? Who is she kidding? She keeps talking about the people who have been helped by him in Chicago, I heard first hand that alot of people, alot of democrats in Chicago don’t even like him. One even showed up to listen to John McCain talk and support him when he came to Greenfield WI. What a phony!

Time for a drink where is Teddy Kennedy?

I can’t take it……

As the kids say OMG! The news media is throwing up on themselves over Ted Kennedy at the convention. However in the background, his assist needs to keep a eye on him. See he is a rascal. Some one needs to make sure he keeps to water and not a scotch, and make sure to keep the ladies from the shirt chasing man Teddy Kennedy. I wonder if the Republicans will get this kind of reception? I do doubt it.

Obama and Jim Diamond Doyle

So I caught just a bit of Obama speech here in Wisconsin. He stated that we have a great Gov. in Jim Doyle. What planet is this guy from? Oh yeah he is from the the neighboring planet of Jim Doyle, it is the “Obamanation Planet” where there slogan is “raise your taxes during hard economic times, kill babies, and make sure the county is open to terrorists”. He stated that Jim Doyle is a smart practical and on the correct side of they issues. Now I know us Cheeseheads do not agree with any of this. I wonder how Jim Doyle will like work under a Jr. Senator with way less experience then himself? Lets take this opportunity to voice our opinion of our sleazy Governor.

I have a thought on the Jr. Senators VP delay. Remember he is texting all his supporters his choice when he makes it. I have a feeling the problem is he can’t find the other 7 states to get out the text messages too. Now that was too funny!

Thursdays Bully Pulpit

So there is a lot to talk about……..

Thursday ended with oil being up-again.  The price of a barrel of oil went up between $5-$6.  The reason that the Associated Press is crediting it for is the rising tensions with Russia and a weaker dollar.  As we all know Russia is a bully. A mean bully and most creditable analysts say that the tensions are over oil and the pipeline in Georgia. So this leads me to believe that congress needs to act now! When every time Russia, Iran, Pakistan, Syria, and North Korea do defiant acts of aggression, the price of a barrel of oil goes up, what does this say to America? I don’t know about the rest of America but I am getting dizzy with the yo yo effect the barrel is going through. Why are we putting ourselves through this when we have so much domestic oil that it could last generations? Congress needs to have an emergency session to vote on this issue now!

The junior senator is also touting that McCain is out of touch.  Now you know I could not let that one go did ya?

Barack Obama is stating that McCain is out of touch because he has 7 homes.  Um u hoo!!! Obama how much did your family make last year? Yes that is right about $4 million. With is association with Rev Wright and Bill Ayers and Father Flager who is really out of touch?  When he votes against a bill that would give innocent babies a chance to live when a similar bill pass with major majority in the federal government, who is out of touch?  He claims that the bill was insufficient in protecting Roe vs. Wade. Oh give me a break!  This is plain and simple; when a baby survives a botched abortion don’t you think it has rights?  It is living, breathing, has a heartbeat outside the womb.  Obama who wants to be president of the United States can’t even answer a question about when they have rights, so why is he voting on it?  He states it is above his “pay grade”.  And this man wants to be president! Are not basic rights a prerequisite of understanding, part of being a president? Moreover is this not the man who said that Americans are clinging to there guns and religion? Hmmm in times of stress I go to religion don’t you?  Obama claims to be a Christian but he criticizes Christians for clinging to their religion in times of stress.  Again who is out of touch?  And finally yes we are in hard economic times so why the heck is Obama’s plans to raise your taxes and all sorts of ways?  Out of touch? Obama better take a hard look in the mirror, it is he who is out of touch. Please make note I could go on with this part of the post forever but for the sake of time called an end, heaven sakes we don’t want the left to call me bitter.

Back to Russia. Darn it why don’t they just comply with the cease fire.  I don’t think getting hostages and digging trenches and building fortifications in Georgia was the idea of the deal. Also I don’t think that this is the best time for them to act aggressively towards US ally Poland just because they signed a missile defense deal with US to protect themselves from Iran.

And some news from the front.  Good news from the War on Terror. Reuter’s is reporting that: The United States and Iraq are close to a deal extending the presence of U.S. troops beyond 2008, but any timetable for their withdrawal must be “feasible,” Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said on Thursday. Well this is indeed good news.  However America can not let there guard down we must be diligent in their War on Terror.  Still today we have people/radicals who want Americans dead.  Don’t forget Sept 11th.

And last I find this very funny.   Mayor Bloomberg  is backing off his idea to put windmills on city bridges and rooftops.  I guess the idea of bird corpses everywhere was not a good idea.

Rick Warren Saddleback president debate

Lets talk about the differences during this debate. Even though it was not the traditional debate it still showed the major differences between the Jr. Senator Obama and John McCain.

The first thing I found very interesting was the question Rick Warren asked, who are three wise people that you would as president rely on? Obama mentioned Michelle and his Grandmother first then a series of politicians such as Teddy Kennedy. And John McCain mentioned Petraeus first which got an applause right off the bat, next he mentioned John Lewis a democrat which shows his ability to cross the party lines which he didn’t need to do, we all know he crosses the party line. And last Meg Whitman who was one of the founders of Ebay. Now here is my question-what cabinet is Obama’s Grandmother going to head up?

Next is the abortion issue, Obama stated he was pro choice, and that when a baby has rights is “above his pay grade”. What???!! Now when McCain was asked he very proudly stated he was pro life and a babies rights start at conception. Now I have stated in this blog that you can not be a Christian and be pro choice. I stand by this statement. Please see post: http://wakeupamerica.blogivists.com/2008/08/13/jessi-kudos-to-local-superhero-vicki-mckenna/ this post is very important in the Jr. Senators stance on abortion and partial birth abortion. He voted against a measure that provides health care to aborted babies that live. As Vicki stated if you think that a baby who lives after an abortion should not get all medical attention you are “going to hell”.

Next when asked about who would they not have voted for for Supreme court. Obama answer very interesting admitted to Clarence Thomas, Scalia, and Roberts. Now if you think that it is not important to get involved in this race think of what type of justices he will vote in. Just think about that. Now when John McCain was asked the same question he stated Ginsburg, Souter, and Stevens. It is worth mentioning that Obama mentioned that Clarence Thomas has little judicial experience. Ok Obama who are you to talk about experience?

Next Rick Warren asked about taxes. Obama said $150,00 and lower is middle class and would see a tax cut. Hmmmm how is that? He wants to raise taxes and all sorts of forms. 2/3rds of voters will be impacted by his raised tax idea on capital gains alone. That is you and me “folks”. McCain stated we all need tax cuts and now is no time for any tax increases in any forms. See Http://www.taxfoundation.org/candidates08/compare/

Evil was a basic question also asked about. Rick Warren asked if it existed and should we defeat it, ignore it, or contain it. McCain very decisively stated defeat it! Talking specifically that he will do everything in his power to get Osama Bin Laden. Also mentioning radical Islamic evil, and that he needs to defeat this evil. Now Obama on the other hand was a bit more hard to follow with this answer now he did mention Darfur and blamed America for having lots of evil in it. He mentioned that evil does exist and that we as humans need to be humble when talking about it. My point here is Obama: get a set of balls! Just like his wishy washy response to the Georgia/Russia problem he is not a strong candidate when it comes to evil. Evil is what killed thousands of Americans on 9/11, a president should be decisive on the subject of evil in our current world of radical Islam.

While watching this two hour debate I noticed lots of stuff. First McCain got way more applause than Obama. I think McCain was way more easier to believe. Obama was calculated and smooth. As my mom says he is a smooth talker and American needs to see through this.

One other cool thing is when John McCain told his Cross story they panned over to Cindy McCain and even though she has heard this story several times she still shed some tears. See the You Tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WTu7drLfRc and http://blogs.unionleader.com/andrew-cline/?p=1026

If you get a chance somehow watch this spot it really shows the differences between the candidates.

Wake up America the Jr. Senator is no Christian!

Peter Theron 2nd Congressional district candidate for WI makes it to Slatecard

“Slatecard” is Slatecard.com PAC. Slatecard.com PAC is an independent, federally registered political action committee (PAC) which acts as a “conduit” to raise money online to help Republican candidates for federal office in compliance with the Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA).

It is no secret that Democrats are far ahead of Republicans in converting their online presence to offline support. One website which the Left has used effectively since 2004, is ActBlue.com (ActBlue PAC), a site which provides a tool for activists and committees to raise funds for the candidates and causes they support. In fact, millions of dollars have been raised through the site since 2004.

See Peter on Slatecard.com
