Media Report Theron’s Economic Strength and Surge
MADISON –As the election draws closer the Wisconsin State Journal endorsed Peter Theron because of his strength on economic issues:
“Peter Theron’s views on the economy — the biggest issue in this election — make him the better choice in the 2nd Congressional District.” The Wisconsin State Journal reported.
The Capital Times also reported on a surge of support for Theron this week.
“Our message of sending a reformer to Washington at a time of economic crisis is resonating throughout the Second Congressional District. Voters are quickly realizing that Tammy Baldwin has done nothing. She voted for the bailout despite legitimate constituent concerns about its appropriateness and effectiveness. America needs to get back to work. We will flourish once again by emphasizing the free market, lower taxes, and government fiscal responsibility rather than by sending welfare checks to failed big businesses,” Peter Theron said.

ACORN Whistleblower Had Obama Donor List

A whistleblower for the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now told Pennsylvania election officials that she was provided a donor list by Barack Obama’s campaign to raise money.
Anita Moncrief, 29, said she had a list of persons who had given money to Obama’s campaign, called a “development plan” that she was given while employed at a Washington DC chapter of Project Vote, one of ACORN’s sister affiliates. The list contained information about donors who had given the maximum contribution allowable to Obama’s campaign.
Moncrief gave this information while testifying to a Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court in a suit brought by the Pennsylvania Republican Party against ACORN for the group’s participation in voter registration fraud.
Moncrief is no longer empoyed by Project Vote. She was fired last January for putting charging personal expenses on the organization’s credit card.

Barack Obama And Joe Biden Have Consistently Lied To Americans About John McCain’s Plan. Their claims have failed every fact-check - from CBS to the Washington Post. John McCain is not going to raise taxes on middle class families. Barack Obama and Joe Biden are the only ones in this race that plan to raise taxes.
OBAMA FICTION
John McCain Will Tax Health Care Benefits For The First Time And Will Be the Largest Middle Class Tax Increase In History.
THE FACTS
This Obama charge is a blatant mischaracterization of the McCain Health Plan. It only focuses on the fact that the value of the employer provided insurance will now show up as additional income for the employees - what he fails to mention - is that John McCain’s generous refundable tax credit ($5,000 for families and $2,500 for individuals) will not only shield millions of families from a tax increase but will actually give them MORE dollars to invest in their health care needs.
The McCain Plan DOES NOT tax:
- Premiums paid by families and individuals
- Employers for providing health care coverage
- Medical expenses like the cost of a procedure or medication
- Insurance claims
Approach Supported By Obama’s Own Advisor: This is an approach supported by Barack Obama’s own Senior Economic Advisor Jason Furman who wrote that “we could scrap the current deduction altogether and replace it with progressive tax credits that, together with other changes, would ensure that every American has affordable health insurance.”
Better Than “Members of Congress”: Under the McCain Plan, your employer can provide you with health insurance as good as a “Member of Congress” (approximately $12,000), and you would pay no more in taxes - regardless of your tax bracket. In fact, you would have additional money left over from the McCain tax credit to put in a health savings account.
Where Is The Middle-Class “Tax Increase”? If you or your family is in the 28% bracket, with an income of $180,000, you could receive employer provided health insurance even better than a Member of Congress, with a cost of almost $18,000, with no increase in taxes. Even the liberal leaning Tax Policy Center, agrees that the McCain proposals will result in a “net tax benefit” of more than $1,200 for an average tax payer. A recent Lewin Group study estimated savings of more than $1,400 per American family - almost three times the savings as under the Obama plan.

The McCain Plan Will Reduce Medicare Spending By Billions By “Cutting Benefits, Eligibility or Both.”
THE FACTS
John McCain believes that we can achieve savings in Medicare without reducing benefits or eligibility. He has proposed common-sense reforms that will not only put Medicare on a path of financial stability but ensure access to quality care for millions of Americans. Some of the policies proposed by the McCain plan include:
- Promote payment reform that allows us to move away from the current fragmented and volume-based service to a system which rewards coordinated and quality focused care.
- Eliminate Medicare fraud and abuse to ensure that nearly $60 billion a year, almost 10 percent of total Medicare spending, that goes to line the pocket of criminals instead of providing quality care for seniors.
- Ensure that drug premiums for the wealthiest Americans are not being subsidized by the middle class.
- Promote a new generation of treatment models that better manage chronic care conditions while rewarding prevention and wellness.
- Greater use of Health IT and medical homes to promote greater co-ordination of care.
- Reduce drug costs by allowing greater use of generics (including bio-generics).
The Obama Spin: If some of the proposals above sound familiar to Senator Obama’s proposals including - better managing chronic care diseases, greater use of health IT, promoting prevention and greater use of generic drugs - because they are. Only the liberal media and the Obama campaign would characterize similar proposals as “savings” in the their plan and “cutting benefits, eligibility or both” in the McCain plan.

Here is what they purposefully fail to mention - the credit goes to the insurance company that the American family chooses to get coverage from, anywhere in the nation. The power of choice lies with the family - not government bureaucrats or insurance companies.
- Putting Families In Charge: Under the McCain Plan American families will not only decide where the tax credit should be directed for their coverage needs but any additional money left over after purchasing coverage will be controlled by the family in a portable health savings account. Ridiculing this line of strange attack, The Associated Press stated, “Of course it would, because it’s meant to pay for insurance. That’s like saying money for a car loan will go straight to the car dealer.”
- Obama Criticizing His Own Approach: Most importantly, Senator Obama is criticizing an approach that is used by his own HOPE credits - where tax payer money simply goes from the federal government to colleges.

Americans With Pre-Existing Condition Under The McCain Plan Will Not Find Coverage.
THE FACTS
John McCain believes that no American should be denied access to quality and affordable coverage simply because of a pre-existing condition. As President, John McCain will work with governors to develop a best practice model that states can follow - a Guaranteed Access Plan or GAP - that would reflect the best experience of the states to ensure these patients have access to health coverage. There would be reasonable limits on premiums, and assistance would be available for Americans below a certain income level.

THE FACTS
The McCain health plan builds on the employer-based system. Employers will have the same incentive to provide health insurance as they do today since they will continue to deduct the cost of health insurance they provide to employees.
- Millions With Employer Coverage Will Do Better Under The McCain Plan: Millions of American families with employer sponsored coverage in all tax brackets with the same coverage as a “Members of Congress” will now come out ahead with additional funds going into a portable health savings account. Importantly, younger and healthier employees with the McCain health care tax credit will have a bigger incentive to stay with the employers. For example, a 25-year-old employee in the 25 percent tax bracket with a $2,500 tax credit could either purchase a policy in the individual market for the same amount or stay with his employer plan and receive a $5,000 policy with an additional $1,250 to invest in a portable health savings account. Why would people choose fewer benefits for more money?
So Why Is Barack Obama Hiding Details About His Plan?

The Obama plan includes a $179 billion a year employer mandate. The mandate requires employers to either provide “meaningful” coverage or pay a tax towards the government plan. Faced with tough economic conditions and rising health costs this creates a clear incentive for employers to drop coverage and move families into the new government plan. A Lewin Group study which examined a similar employer mandate combined with a national plan, like the Obama plan, concluded that almost 52 million individuals would lose their private employer coverage. A recent analysis of both plans by the nonpartisan CATO Institute concluded that the Obama government-run plan will be able to “keep its premiums artificially low…since it can turn to the U.S. Treasury to cover any shortfalls” resulting in “undercutting the private market.” According to Wall Street Journal, the goal of the Obama plan “…like HillaryCare in the 1990s, is to displace current private coverage and switch people to the default government option.”

Peter Theron takes on Tammy Baldwin
After watching the debate between Peter Theron and Tammy Baldwin I can understand why the Wisconsin state journal endorse Peter.
OUR ENDORSEMENT: Theron for Congress in Dist. 2Peter Theron’s views on the economy — the biggest issue in this election — make him the better choice in the 2nd Congressional District.Theron, a Madison Republican, may have little chance of defeating incumbent Democrat Tammy Baldwin, also of Madison. But that should not stop independent-minded voters from appreciating Theron’s strengths and Baldwin’s weaknesses.Theron would resist tax hikes on businesses and families. As a college instructor, he also understands the value of higher education and the need to encourage high-tech companies and jobs.Theron supports drilling for more oil, building more nuclear power plants and expanding renewable energy choices such as wind turbines on Lake Michigan. And Theron favors free trade to boost state exports.
Baldwin, who caters her agenda to the far left of the Democratic Party, is too quick to raise taxes and has a terrible record on free trade. She even opposed the Peruvian free trade agreement that Barack Obama supported.
Worse, Baldwin favors wasting time and distracting the nation with an impeachment show trial of President Bush — even though he’s already leaving.
Theron’s party isn’t strongly behind him. He has raised the equivalent of pennies to Baldwin’s pile of campaign cash. And some of Theron’s politics lack the moderation a GOP challenger needs to win the Dane County-dominated seat.
Baldwin is a compassionate and professional person. But the long shot Theron, with his real-world experience, gets the nod.

I attended the debate between Peter Theron and Tammy Baldwin and all I have to say is “this is the person who has been representing me for so long?”. Good God help us!
Here are just some of the outrageous quotes from the debate.
“We don’t need missiles in Poland”, is she kidding me? Did she not take her geography class? With all the recent uprising of Russia being a bully against Georgia for God only knows what reason, how can she even think such a thought.
“Engaging diplomacy” “Dialog is what is needed” “Our language is too strong when dealing with other nations” Yes you folks she is talking about countries like communist Cuba, terrorist nation Iran, Authoritarian North Korea. Last I checked we in our free country did not approve of countries that were run by dictators, Marxist, and just plan evil leaders who want us dead! Isn’t Iran that country who wants Israel wiped off the face of the earth?
She also states she is a big believer in Cap and Trade or what we here at Wake Up America call Cap and Tax: see post Cap and tax not Cap and trade.
You also would think that the world was coming to an end when she started talking about climate change. “Climate change could bring a real catastrophe to the economic world” is she for real?
She also spoke of significant cuts to defense. Last I checked we are still fighting a war on terrorism. What just leave the troops high and dry? She talks about her “love” for the troops, yeah Tam you really love the troops, you voted twice against funding for them to do there job, and that is defending America against terrorist, people who want to kill us.
The following is a written copy of Peter Theron’s closing remarks in the debate with Tammy Baldwin on the UW-Madison campus.
“We live in a global economic market. One of these issues we have not dealt with enough tonight is how our current economic recession affects the world.
This financial meltdown is the result of multiple Democrat government failures. The Democrats’ failed energy policy that listened to environmental interests rather than providing the U.S. economy with energy crippled our economy this summer with high energy prices. The Democrats’ failed mortgage-lending policy created a housing bubble and housing market crash. The Democrats’ failed fiscal policy caused the stock market crash. These three failures resulted in a Democrat recession.
Indeed, the Democrat policies have also hurt the very people they claimed to help. Millions of lower income Americans will lose their homes. Tens of millions of middle income Americans have seen the value of their investments, homes, and retirement accounts plummet. The government will not have the money to spend on new initiatives such as creating health care options.
The Republicans tried to change the energy policy. But a combination of environmentalists, Democrats, and the national media blinded the public to the need for change.
The Republicans tried to change the mortgage-lending policy. But a combination of lobbyists, Democrats, and the national media told the American people that subprime mortgages were safe and necessary for targeted groups.
It is the Democrats—including Tammy Baldwin—who have had control of the Congress for the last two years, and have not made these changes even though they could have been signed into law.
So now we have a Democrat stock market crash and a Tammy Baldwin Recession.
We must do three things to solve these Democrat problems and root out this corruption in Washington .
First, for the good of our economy we must have solid, secure, and certain sources of American energy. The only way this will happen is if we drill for oil and build more nuclear plants.
Second, we must hold hearings on how the economic meltdown happened—especially on the role of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
Third, we must update the regulatory environment of Wall Street so that we can preserve the free market economy that provides our economic security.
Americans know that Congress has failed. 79% of Americans want to completely replace Congress. On November 4th they can. I ask that you do your part. I ask for your support and vote because I share your belief that we must reform Congress.”

Voter Fraud/Obama ACORN Associations
In this country it should always be easy to vote and hard to cheat.
Wisconsin was decided by the slimmest of margins the past two presidential elections and we owe it to the voters to ensure that every vote counts.
With hundreds of thousands of new voter registrants and questionable practices by groups like ACORN, it is more important now than ever to get our election process right.
In Milwaukee alone there have been three registration workers charged with voter fraud and 49 recommended for charges leaving potentially fraudulent registration cards on the voter rolls.
Every time a questionable vote is cast it erases a legitimate vote and disenfranchises those who performed their civic duty and followed the law.
With some of the most lenient election laws in the country and a history of voter fraud including the 2000 Smokes for Votes campaign, more votes cast than voters registered and tire slashing in 2004, this is a recipe for disaster on November 4th.

Joe the Plumber
We all know a Joe the Plumber whether he owns the hardware store, a gas station or our neighborhood bar and grill. Joe is an important part of our community and we rely on him to help our local economy grow.
People like Joe rely on our old fashioned Wisconsin work ethic and trust that government will do everything possible to allow them to prosper. They care about keeping taxes low, controlling healthcare costs and solving our energy crisis.
Spreading opposition research about Joe after the debate, Barack Obama’s campaign attacked him for asking questions about Obama’s plan to increase taxes because they know Joe is right.
While Obama says he is for hard-working Americans, the fact is his record and his campaign proposals say otherwise.
The fact is Obama’s tax increases would hit 50 percent of small business income and would impact 16 million jobs in America . He has also voted to increase taxes on folks making just $42,000 a year.
- Last weekend, Barack Obama knocked on the door of Joe the Plumber to ask for his vote and had to answer a legitimate question.
- Today, the Obama campaign sent out Joe Biden and their top advisers to attack Joe the Plumber.
- Since the debate, they have spread opposition research about Joe in an attempt to discredit the legitimate questions he posed to Barack Obama about his plan to increase taxes.
- The fact is that Barack Obama’s tax increases would hit 50% of small business income and would impact 16 million jobs in America.
- The reason why so many Americans still have questions about Barack Obama is because his campaign has actively attacked those who do question him rather than answering the legitimate questions that people have.
- We still don’t have an answer on why Barack Obama voted for tax increases on people making just $42,000 a year.
- At the second and third debates, Barack Obama out of nowhere said he supported offshore drilling despite attacking offshore drilling for months. No one has asked about this change.
- At the second and third debates, Barack Obama refused to detail the fine that small businesses will have to pay under his health care mandate.

Some change!
George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years. The first six, the economy was fine.
A little over one year ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%.
4) the DOW JONES hit a record high–14,000 +
5) American’s were buying new cars, taking cruises, vacations overseas, living large!
But Americans wanted ‘CHANGE’! So, in 2006 they voted in a Democratic Congress and yes–we got ‘CHANGE’ all right. In the PAST YEAR:
1) Consumer confidence has plummeted ;
2) Gasoline is now over $4 a gallon & climbing!;
3) Unemployment is up to 5.5% (a 10% increase);
4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12 TRILLION DOLLARS and prices are still dropping;
5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
6) As I write, THE DOW is probing another low~~ $2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS EVAPORATED FROM THEIR STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS!
YES, IN 2006 AMERICA VOTED FOR CHANGE…AND WE SURE GOT IT! ….

One said he’d registered with ACORN 15 times! Another said he registered 73 times! Both said the ACORN canvassers pleaded: “If you don’t sign I’ll lose my job.”
The New York Post reported:
“Last July, ACORN settled the largest case of voter fraud in Washington state history. Seven ACORN workers had submitted nearly 2,000 bogus voter forms. According to case records, they flipped through phone books for names to use on the forms, including ‘Leon Spinks,’ ‘Frekkie Magoal’ and ‘Fruto Boy Crispila.’ Three ACORN election hoaxers pleaded guilty in October. A King County prosecutor called ACORN’s criminal sabotage ‘an act of vandalism upon the voter rolls.’”
And The Wall Street Journal reported:
“In Ohio in 2004, a worker for one affiliate was given crack cocaine in exchange for fraudulent registrations that included underage voters, dead voters and pillars of the community named Mary Poppins, Dick Tracy, and Jive Turkey. During a congressional hearing in Ohio in the aftermath of the 2004 election, officials from several counties in the state explained ACORN’s practice of dumping thousands of registration forms in their lap on the submission deadline, even though the forms had been collected months earlier”

Obama’s Tax Cut……BS……SOCIALISM
We had a little birthday party for my oldest son this weekend and this conversation came up amongst the adults. If only 60% of US Citizens pay taxes, how can Obama promise a tax cut to 95% of Americans?
This falls into the category of the economic stimulus that came out earlier this year. The economic stimulus would not have passed if the dems weren’t allowed to add the people who don’t pay taxes in to the list people who get a check.
Obama calls this fair……. How is this fair?
Jay Weber is talking about this as I’m typing so I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who seemed to notice.
This is redistribution of wealth…. SOCIALISM.

Figuring the year at 240 days times 48 years plus 1,966 days equals 13,486 days.
If you were going in for serious surgery, would you want a surgeon doing the work to have 143 days of training or 13,486?
True, the 1.966 days were not executive training, but they were character building days you won’t get sittiing at the feet of Wright, Ayers, Flugel or the other questionable associates.
