Assembly Leadership Kills Budget Amendment to Stop UW Entities From Performing Late-Term Abortions

Monday, June 15, 2009

Wisconsin Right to Life is condemning the Assembly Democratic Leadership for using a procedural maneuver to kill an amendment to the state budget that would have prevented UW entities from performing late-term abortions. The amendment, authored by Rep. Dan LeMahieu and strongly supported by Wisconsin Right to Life, was offered in light of the Madison Surgery Center late-term abortion plan that was approved by UW officials.

The Assembly was asked by the leadership to vote on a procedural maneuver that all Assembly members knew would result in killing the LeMahieu amendment. The leadership’s maneuver passed by only one vote. All Republicans voted against the leadership’s maneuver and were joined by Democrats Peggy Krusick and Bob Ziegelbauer and Independent Jeff Wood.

“It is obvious by the very close vote that the leadership was fearful that the LeMahieu amendment would pass if members were permitted the opportunity to vote on it,” said Susan Armacost, Legislative Director of Wisconsin Right to Life. “Apparently, the leadership felt that using a complicated procedural maneuver would mask their intention to protect the hideous late-term abortion plan at the Madison Surgery Center. Wisconsin Right to Life considers the recorded vote in favor of the leadership’s procedural maneuver to be a vote in favor of the late-term abortion plan at the Madison Surgery Center. We thank Assembly Republicans, Representative Krusick, Representative Ziegelbauer and Representative Wood for voting to protect babies from hideous late-term abortion procedures at UW facilities.”

Late-term abortions involve the dismemberment of fully formed babies.

A mean bully and most creditable analysts say that the tensions are over oil and the pipeline in Georgia. So this leads me to believe that congress needs to act now! When every time Russia, Iran, Pakistan, Syria, and North Korea do defiant acts of aggression, the price of a barrel of oil goes up, what does this say to America? I don’t know about the rest of America but I am getting dizzy with the yo yo effect the barrel is going through. Why are we putting ourselves through this when we have so much domestic oil that it could last generations? Congress needs to have an emergency session to vote on this issue now!

The junior senator is also touting that McCain is out of touch. Now you know I could not let that one go did ya?

Barack Obama is stating that McCain is out of touch because he has 7 homes. Um u hoo!!! Obama how much did your family make last year? Yes that is right about $4 million. With is association with Rev Wright and Bill Ayers and Father Flager who is really out of touch? When he votes against a bill that would give innocent babies a chance to live when a similar bill pass with major majority in the federal government, who is out of touch? He claims that the bill was insufficient in protecting Roe vs. Wade. Oh give me a break! This is plain and simple; when a baby survives a botched abortion don’t you think it has rights? It is living, breathing, has a heartbeat outside the womb. Obama who wants to be president of the United States can’t even answer a question about when they have rights, so why is he voting on it? He states it is above his “pay grade”. And this man wants to be president! Are not basic rights a prerequisite of understanding, part of being a president? Moreover is this not the man who said that Americans are clinging to there guns and religion? Hmmm in times of stress I go to religion don’t you? Obama claims to be a Christian but he criticizes Christians for clinging to their religion in times of stress. Again who is out of touch? And finally yes we are in hard economic times so why the heck is Obama’s plans to raise your taxes and all sorts of ways? Out of touch? Obama better take a hard look in the mirror, it is he who is out of touch. Please make note I could go on with this part of the post forever but for the sake of time called an end, heaven sakes we don’t want the left to call me bitter.

Back to Russia. Darn it why don’t they just comply with the cease fire. I don’t think getting hostages and digging trenches and building fortifications in Georgia was the idea of the deal. Also I don’t think that this is the best time for them to act aggressively towards US ally Poland just because they signed a missile defense deal with US to protect themselves from Iran.

And some news from the front. Good news from the War on Terror. Reuter’s is reporting that: The United States and Iraq are close to a deal extending the presence of U.S. troops beyond 2008, but any timetable for their withdrawal must be “feasible,” Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said on Thursday. Well this is indeed good news. However America can not let there guard down we must be diligent in their War on Terror. Still today we have people/radicals who want Americans dead. Don’t forget Sept 11th.

And last I find this very funny. Mayor Bloomberg is backing off his idea to put windmills on city bridges and rooftops. I guess the idea of bird corpses everywhere was not a good idea.

Lets talk about the differences during this debate. Even though it was not the traditional debate it still showed the major differences between the Jr. Senator Obama and John McCain.

The first thing I found very interesting was the question Rick Warren asked, who are three wise people that you would as president rely on? Obama mentioned Michelle and his Grandmother first then a series of politicians such as Teddy Kennedy. And John McCain mentioned Petraeus first which got an applause right off the bat, next he mentioned John Lewis a democrat which shows his ability to cross the party lines which he didn’t need to do, we all know he crosses the party line. And last Meg Whitman who was one of the founders of Ebay. Now here is my question-what cabinet is Obama’s Grandmother going to head up?

Next is the abortion issue, Obama stated he was pro choice, and that when a baby has rights is “above his pay grade”. What???!! Now when McCain was asked he very proudly stated he was pro life and a babies rights start at conception. Now I have stated in this blog that you can not be a Christian and be pro choice. I stand by this statement. Please see post: http://wakeupamerica.blogivists.com/2008/08/13/jessi-kudos-to-local-superhero-vicki-mckenna/ this post is very important in the Jr. Senators stance on abortion and partial birth abortion. He voted against a measure that provides health care to aborted babies that live. As Vicki stated if you think that a baby who lives after an abortion should not get all medical attention you are “going to hell”.

Next when asked about who would they not have voted for for Supreme court. Obama answer very interesting admitted to Clarence Thomas, Scalia, and Roberts. Now if you think that it is not important to get involved in this race think of what type of justices he will vote in. Just think about that. Now when John McCain was asked the same question he stated Ginsburg, Souter, and Stevens. It is worth mentioning that Obama mentioned that Clarence Thomas has little judicial experience. Ok Obama who are you to talk about experience?

Next Rick Warren asked about taxes. Obama said $150,00 and lower is middle class and would see a tax cut. Hmmmm how is that? He wants to raise taxes and all sorts of forms. 2/3rds of voters will be impacted by his raised tax idea on capital gains alone. That is you and me “folks”. McCain stated we all need tax cuts and now is no time for any tax increases in any forms. See Http://www.taxfoundation.org/candidates08/compare/

Evil was a basic question also asked about. Rick Warren asked if it existed and should we defeat it, ignore it, or contain it. McCain very decisively stated defeat it! Talking specifically that he will do everything in his power to get Osama Bin Laden. Also mentioning radical Islamic evil, and that he needs to defeat this evil. Now Obama on the other hand was a bit more hard to follow with this answer now he did mention Darfur and blamed America for having lots of evil in it. He mentioned that evil does exist and that we as humans need to be humble when talking about it. My point here is Obama: get a set of balls! Just like his wishy washy response to the Georgia/Russia problem he is not a strong candidate when it comes to evil. Evil is what killed thousands of Americans on 9/11, a president should be decisive on the subject of evil in our current world of radical Islam.

While watching this two hour debate I noticed lots of stuff. First McCain got way more applause than Obama. I think McCain was way more easier to believe. Obama was calculated and smooth. As my mom says he is a smooth talker and American needs to see through this.

One other cool thing is when John McCain told his Cross story they panned over to Cindy McCain and even though she has heard this story several times she still shed some tears. See the You Tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WTu7drLfRc and http://blogs.unionleader.com/andrew-cline/?p=1026

If you get a chance somehow watch this spot it really shows the differences between the candidates.

Wake up America the Jr. Senator is no Christian!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypDwNpgIUQc You need to watch this…

Jessi notes…….

Voted against banning partial birth abortion

Obama’s record in Illinois represents that of a pragmatic progressive, who pushed for moderate reforms and opposed right-wing legislation. In the IL legislature, voting “present” is the equivalent of voting “no” because a majority of “yes” votes are required for passage. Many IL legislators use the “present” vote as an evasion on an unpopular choice, so that they can avoid being targeted for voting “no.” During the 2004 Democratic primary, an opponent mocked Obama’s “present” vote on abortion bills with flyers portraying a rubber duck and the words, “He ducked!”.

In 1997, Obama voted against SB 230, which would have turned doctors into felons by banning so-called partial-birth abortion, & against a 2000 bill banning state funding. Although these bills included an exception to save the life of the mother, they didn’t include anything about abortions necessary to protect the health of the mother. The legislation defined a fetus as a person, & could have criminalized virtually all abortion.
