Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said the GOP’s style of government led to the collapse of Lehman brothers, suggesting the economy couldn’t handle another Republican White House

Obama’s vice presidential candidate Joe Biden was stronger in his criticisms, calling a future McCain White House a bad “sequel” to President Bush’s administration.

Republican candidates John McCain and Sarah Palin, on the other hand, called for robust market reform, ruling out any government bailouts for the bank.

“And I promise you, we will never put America in this position again. We will clean up Wall Street. We will re-reform government,” he vowed at a campaign stop in Jacksonville, Florida.

At a separate stop in Golden, Colorado Palin said she was “glad to see the Federal Reserve and Treasury have said no to bailing out another” bank.

“We are going to put and end to mismanagement and abuses on Wall Street that have resulted in this financial crisis,” Palin said. “Our regulatory system is outdated and needs a complete overhaul. Washington has ignored this.”

Well I think this round goes to McCain/Palin-shocker!  McCain and Palin gave solutions and Obama and Biden just took the opportunity to trash on republican.  New flash just because you have a R behind your name does mean that you will do exactly as what Bush did.  McCain is not Bush people!

Yes, Palin did indicate some support for a Ketchikan “link” (which could be a bridge or a ferry) while campaigning to become Governor. Her exact quote the Obama campaign is using against her is from a 2006 article in the Ketchikan Daily News. Palin is quoted saying:

“The money that’s been appropriated for the project, it should remain available for a link, an access process as we continue to evaluate the scope and just how best to just get this done. This link is a commitment to help Ketchikan expand its access, to help this community prosper.”

“Link” is the operative word. That can mean bridge, ferry or anything else that gets people from one location to another. She also said the “scope” should be considered, which can mean size and cost. Regardless, as Governor, when it really counted, she opposed the bridge flat-out. Meanwhile, in the US Senate, Obama VOTED FOR the $400 million Bridge to Nowhere……….

And from a different angle no one talks about one of the bigger problem.  No one can agree on anything.  Again this party is falling apart right before our eyes.  They talk about unity and having the country come together.  Now how is this going to happen when you have the person you are supporting being the most leftist Jr. Senator in the Senate?  And not to mention the third most leftist record in Mr. Biden?  This is a huge problem for him and the Democrat party.  How are you going to bring the country together by raising taxes?

DENVER (AP) — The release of a 2004 interview with former 1960s radical William Ayers, in which he compared U.S. government actions to the Sept. 11 attacks, drew renewed attention Tuesday to his association with Democratic candidate Barack Obama.

Ayers, already the subject of anti-Obama ads, was featured anew by Fox News for the comments, which the network released from an interview four years ago by one of its correspondents.

“I think every American that I know was weeping over the next several weeks, and devastated and shocked. Was that an act of pure terror? It absolutely was. And there are many other acts of terror carried out by our government, even recently, that, that are comparable,” he said………………….

....Obama and Ayers both served in the 1990s on a school reform board in Chicago. The University of Illinois at Chicago released documents Tuesday about Obama’s work for the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, an effort that Ayers was instrumental in starting. Obama served as chairman during the 1990s and both attended some board meetings with Ayers in 1995, but the papers offered few details of their work together.

Obama and Ayers also served on the board of the Woods Fund, a Chicago-based charity that develops community groups to help the poor. Obama left the board in December 2002.

The minutes of the Annenberg Challenge meetings show that during a June 1995 meeting, Ayers was credited with having “worked diligently” to support the effort. More than a year later, Obama pushed the group to be bolder in its reforms.

“At the end of five years, will we have broken the mold? Not much seems to be bubbling up that is inspiring or substantive,” October 1996 minutes say, paraphrasing Obama.

Time for a drink where is Teddy Kennedy?

It started at a campaign event that Obama held last Monday, at Detroit’s Joe Louis Arena. There have been very few news reports about this matter, but they all seem to point to a consistent turn of events.

Before the event kicked-off, a campaign staffer (who apparently was female and black, should anybody care) approached two young men in the crowd and asked if they’d like to sit up on the platform, and appear behind Obama while he was speaking from the podium.

As the two guys accepted the invitation, one of them asked the campaign staffer if he could bring his “friends” along. The staffer then began inquiring about the friends – - what do the friends look like, how are the friends dressed, and so forth. And when it became apparent that the friends were women with traditional, Muslim-looking head coverings, the staffer said “no” to the request……………
